Meet: 10.00 in the public car park behind Selwyn Hall, Valens Lane off the A4. Gr ST 823686. Landranger 173/Explorer 156.
Finish: 13.00.
Focus: Winter wildlife in and around the By Brook and surrounding hillside grassland and woodland, plus a geological visit to the Box Rock Circus. Dipper, grey wagtail and possible signs of otter.
Description: a 3-5 km walk on footpaths and quiet roads, including some ascents and descents. Possibly muddy on paths. Waterproof footwear advised.
