Spring in the Ancient Woodlands of Englishcombe

Focus: Spring flora in ancient woodland.
Description: We will visit Duchy-owned woodland in Englishcombe Parish to note the signs of Spring, especially the ground flora typical of these traditional oak-hazel woodlands, which are still actively coppiced. A generally flat walk with some slopes encompassing a fascinating mixture of industrial archaeology (Fullers earth mining) and ecology. Wellingtons advised because there are many deer in the area, there might be ticks, and also areas can be muddy.
