Travel: Those with an adventurous spirit may like to travel by rail. Check times nearer the date. The timetable shows Bath Spa Station to Severn Beach  departure at  08.07 am,  Oldfield Park at 08:10 am, Keynsham at 08:17, arrive Bristol Temple Meads at 8:25, change for Severn Beach train at 08:46, ETA Severn Beach 09:24. . Start point is not too far from Severn Beach Rail Station. There is at least one cafe en route from the station, providing refreshments.
Finish: Approx 14:00hrs, possibility of an extension so bring picnic.
Description: Walk along River Severn bank to Pilning wetlands looking for wintering & migrating birds.
Focus: Estuary wading birds.
Description: Tom is a very experienced birder and for the uninitiated he will be pleased to explain the differences between species. Other members will be on hand to give guidance. It is likely that we will see a number of species to include Avocets and Egrets.
