Newton St Loe and Wilmington

Meet: Newton St. Loe Churchyard. Landranger 172 / Explorer 155 (ST 701 649). Take care to park considerately in the village.
Focus: General interest, local history, and natural history.
Description: Circular walk of 4.3 miles, taking in the lakes and woods in the grounds of Bath Spa University, up to Wilmington through pasture and along quiet lanes, then back to Newton St. Loe via Whistling Copse. The walk is mainly fairly level with one moderate climb of about 50m.  Uneven in places and muddy if wet, so wear suitable footwear and please bring a packed lunch (to be carried).

This has several benefits for all meetings: the Leader is aware who is coming and can deal with any queries before the meeting (such as car-sharing, if required); in the unlikely event that arrangements need to change or the meeting has to be cancelled, attendees can all be contacted promptly and easily.
