Focus: Grassland fungi.
Description: A gentle stroll of about 1km through the old common looking for fungi which are varied and plentiful in a good year despite the rather poor diversity of grasses and other plants. We will then cross the top edge of Victoria Park, where the grass verge also produces a range of fungi associated with grassland or with trees and shrubs. Easy walking but slopes may be slippery when wet. Walking boots or stout shoes with good grip recommended.
