Leaders: Phillip Delve and Carole Catling
Bookings: Carole Catling (Booking not essential but useful to know numbers expected)
Start: 09:00
Finish: 11:00
Meeting place: American Museum and Gardens, Claverton Hill, Bath, BA2 7BD. (ST 784 640). Two car parks. Meet at front of museum.
Focus: Moth identification and recording.
Description: An opportunity for those with little knowledge of moths to see how moths are trapped. The trap is run overnight and opened in the morning. The moths are gently removed from the trap, viewed and identified, then recorded. Moths then either fly off or are gently released into nearby shrubs.
After the moth trap event, it is envisaged that Mike Williams and Alvan White will attend to give a public nature walk in the grounds. Details to be finalised with the American Museum.
Note: This event does not give entry to the American Museum and Gardens. A fee is payable for non-members. There is a café on site.
Please book with the Leader in advance. Members can find contact details in their Spring/Summer 2024 newsletter. This has several benefits for all meetings: the Leader is aware who is coming and can deal with any queries before the meeting (such as car-sharing, if required); in the unlikely event that arrangements need to change or the meeting has to be cancelled, attendees can all be contacted promptly and easily.
If you have booked but then are unable to attend, please contact the leader as soon as possible. The leader can then contact other members if there is a waiting list.
