Description: Harvest mice are Britain’s smallest rodents. They live among tall grasses and shrubs where they weave an intricate cricket ball-sized nest above the ground. They used to be abundant, but numbers have reduced due to agricultural intensification and an over-tidying of the countryside. Pete has been involved in breeding harvest mice for re-introduction into historic and newly restored habitats.
