Royal Victoria Park, Bath

15th January 2025 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Leader: Hugh Williamson
Contact: To book contact Alvan White
Start: 10:30
Finish: Around 12:30
Meet: Royal Victoria Park, at the covered seating structure east of the bandstand (ST74526519), what3words: last.really.table
Focus: Trees in winter. With few leaves to be seen, winter is a good time to focus on subtler characteristics of trees: bark, branch patterns, buds, graft lines and suckers.
Description: An easy-paced walk around the park looking at selected trees (check-list provided), and whatever else takes our interest. Royal Victoria Park, including the Botanical Garden, has a tremendous variety of trees and has a long planting history, extending back 200 years.

Please book with Alvan in advance. Members can find contact details in their Autumn / Winter 2024-5 newsletter. This has several benefits for all meetings: the Leader is aware who is coming and can deal with any queries before the meeting (such as car-sharing, if required); in the unlikely event that arrangements need to change or the meeting has to be cancelled, attendees can all be contacted promptly and easily.
If you have booked but then are unable to attend, please contact the leader as soon as possible. The leader can then contact other members if there is a waiting list.
