DIRECTIONS
Philippa Paget writes:
SatNav – we are in the middle of the village 100m from the old phone box, and it says ‘Elm Farm’ on the walls.
Sometimes SatNav brings you right to us, but if it doesn’t, and you are on a slight slope, go up the slope, left at the ‘T’ junction, and we are on the right. OR, if SatNav turns you right at the T junction and Manor Farm is on your left, then turn around and go about 30m and we are on the right – Elm Farm signs on the walls.
There are only 22 houses in the village so once you get to Burnett, you are very close.
From Keynsham/Bristol – WELLSWAY is closed to all traffic at the moment so you have to go along the A4 through Saltford to Corston then follow directions below to A39.
turn up the B3116 Wellsway by the New Inn and Talbot pubs and the Chinese take-away (towards Marksbury/Wells).
After about 2 miles Burnett is on the right. Take the second turning into the village (crossroads). We are 150m down (past old telephone box) on the left – ‘Elm Farm’ signs on the walls.
From Bath/Corston OR from Marksbury direction on the A39 – Sometimes SatNav wants to turn you Right into the lanes by The Wheatsheaf pub – ignore this and carry on up A39 ½ mile to the traffic lights.
At the Two Headed Man traffic lights (between Corston and Marksbury) go towards Keynsham (B3116) –we are less than a mile from the traffic lights –
by the road signs ‘Burnett’, is a little lay-by which is at the top of our drive.
If you miss it, then shortly after is the turning into the village take that left. We are 150m down (past old telephone box) on the left – ‘Elm Farm’ signs on the walls.
Please book with the Leader in advance. Members can find contact details in their Spring and Summer 2023 newsletter. This has several benefits for all meetings: the Leader is aware who is coming and can deal with any queries before the meeting (such as car-sharing, if required); in the unlikely event that arrangements need to change or the meeting has to be cancelled, attendees can all be contacted promptly and easily.
If you have booked but then are unable to attend, please contact the leader as soon as possible. The leader can then contact other members if there is a waiting list.
