Bat Watch, Friary, near Freshford

GR ST 788591 Landranger 172/Explorer 142. Friary is reached via Friary Wood Lane, a narrow steep road leading down from A36.

Focus: The diverse bat population from Freshford Mill to Iford
Description: Focusing on the scheduled ancient monument site of Friary, Laura will give us a tutored introduction to the extraordinarily diverse bat species, using bat detectors to identify species in flight along the River Frome as we stand on the paved riverside terrace. Refreshments on site beforehand in field school. Film available in case of poor weather. Donations to Wilts Bat Group.
