Lichens – Weston Church Yard

Focus: Lichens on stonework.
Description: As well as the local building stones, churchyards and cemeteries provide a variety of stones not found naturally in our area and as a result they can provide a suitable substrate for lichens not occurring locally in the wider countryside. We will also examine some ash trees on a nearby estate, which are colonised by a quite different range of lichens.
